Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) "The Ranbaxy manufacturer morphine medication works differently than what was prescribed at different pharmacy. I will be going back to previous pharmacy which carries different manufacturer. The Ranbaxy/Sun 15 mg ER tablets are inconsistent. For past two weeks taken this medication, I have been nauseous and vomiting after 4 hours, get real sleepy occasionally after one hour, not holding pain as usual for 12 hours. Something is really wrong with this extended relief medication. Will let CVS know this medication needs further review. Doubt anyone will take notice since it is a pain medication that government and doctors view as a patient problem."

Morphine Sulfate IR (morphine) "After getting a bad infection meningitis I had some long term damage. I have migraines daily and fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis. I can't take most pain medication because it can make it worse. Morphine is the only one that has worked for me & I'm able to live a life! It's been 7 years and my dose has stayed the same. I take morphine sulphate IR 30, 3 times a day. No side effects no more. I can drive & it doesn't affect daily activities. But be careful it causes constipation. So if you are on it I recommend that you take a stool softener & vitamins."

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) "In 2001, I had knee surgery. The surgeon cut a nerve and I’ve been in chronic pain since then. The surgeon didn’t care. My GP went through many combinations of medications. I was relieved when he put me on Morphine Sulfate ER 60mg (with Gabapentin and Ibuprofen). Taking this twice a day, I no longer want to break things or am aggressive. I hope the government realizes that pain medication is necessary, even though others abuse it."

MS Contin (morphine) "I had a spinal stroke 8 months ago, spinal cord infarction, that has left me in a wheelchair, and around the clock pain. I begin taking Ms Contin in December, 15mg 2x a day, along with Tramadol, Lyrica, and Percocet 10/325. I was able to cut way back on the Percocet and Tramadol once I begin the morphine, and have been able to continue so until the middle of March. My pain is not responding as well since my tolerance has obviously increased. I have talked to my doctor about this and am going to go up to 30mg twice daily beginning in April. Morphine has allowed me to pretty much cut out two pain medications while providing a more consistent pain relief."

MS Contin (morphine) "It is unbelieveable. I have hurt so badly and for so long., Finally I got a caring Doctor that actually listened to me. He spent about 45 minutes talking to me. I have had a spinal fusion and both hips replaced. The discs above and below the fusion are going bad I found a doctor that prescribed the MS and I am almost pain free. I am afraid to take a deep breath. It has been so long since I could do the most ordinary things like push the grocery cart and walk up an incline. I think this drug is wonderful. I haven't had the up and down ride you get with hydrocodone,"

MS Contin (morphine) "I was taking upwards of 10-10/325 Percocets a day and still having knee pain that would prevent me from getting up in the morning, I suffer from chronic patella dislocation among several other knee issues. Taking 60mg MSContin 3 times a day is a God send. I'm down to 2-3 Percocet for the break through pain but the MSContin has helped me get through the day and be able to play with my son. I thank my doctor and pharmacist every month."

MS Contin (morphine) "I was on a lot of pain medications but found myself on three 60mg Morphines and four 15 mg Oxycodone up until my doctor of 10 years moved when I was forced tapered down to 90mgs a day of Morphine. I was booted out of my pain place and tracked down my former doc, and he force tapered me down to 45mgs a day of Morphine no breakthrough medicines. In the midwest, we are being forced down to 45mgs a day or 45MME."

Kadian (morphine) "I have been using Kadian for about 5 years and it has kept my pain at bay. I was recently switched to Morphine and the pain that drives me crazy came back well before I could take another pill (8 hr). I found this intolerable and went back to the Kadian. As of Jan. of 2017 the only thing my doctor says I will be able to get is EMBEDA. I have not tried it yet but was denied coverage by my insurance. The DEA should not interfere with patients getting their proper medication!"

MS Contin (morphine) "Had been on time release OxyContin, 20 mg., 2x daily for 2.5 years for severe neuropathy and arthritis in both feet. But insurance changed and had to switch to MS Contin's generic, Morphine ER, 30mg., twice a day. Was dubious this would be as effective as OxyContin, but has worked like a charm! Been on it for a year now, same dosage. Before time-release pain meds, I was in SO much pain. Now, I'm nearly pain free and its given me my life back. I can't do too much strenuous walking, but can do things like run errands or take my daughter to the mall. I'm in the process of talking to my dr. about something for breakthrough pain, which hits when I overdo it, or sometimes around the 10 hour mark, and have 2 hours to wait."

MorphaBond ER (morphine) "So, I was on 30 mg of MS contin (morphine) two times a day for 6 months then they took me down to two 15mg a day and I complained. Now they give me this Morphabond two times a day 15 mg. I'm on day 4 and have not gotten ANY relief AT ALL from this! Only relief I get is when I get to take a break through oxycodone at 8 hour intervals! This medicine is useless! I even said I didn't think it was dissolving or something now reading the comments no wonder people OD on this , it's NOT because they ABUSE them it's because they aren't getting any of the meds that they are paying for! Then when I go back to pain management and they pee test me they will say there's nothing there watch because the stuff doesn't dissolve or get absorbed!! What a waste!!!"

MS Contin (morphine) "I was prescribed 60 mg MSContin twice a day switching from the 50mcg/hr fentanyl patch because of side effects problems and the fact it only works for the first two days. I was diagnosed with fairly severe osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease, last year at the age of 26. After wearing the patch for a few months my natural pain tolerance nearly vanished. Now taking this MS-Contin feels like taking aspirin or a small ER/CR hydrocodone dose. "

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) "Have been taking Er 120mgs 3x a day, with 60mg. For break through pain. I suffer from chronic spinal stenosis with acachnoditis. That being a progressive disorder. After many different Doctors rx not helping' went to pain management clinic. I was inpatient for 4-5 days till they finally found right drug & most important dose. I Do take 60-90mg for breakthrough pain. It works so well. Bless those Dr's that took the time & effort to find answers. I am on same dose for awhile now. The only side effect is bad constipation. I use a stool softener . What a relief to finally have a decent quality of life finally."

MorphaBond ER (morphine) "After trying Percocet, gabapentin, Hysingla I tried Morphabond. It did nothing for my pain and I was on 45mg a day. It was less effective than Advil. I was in agony and couldn’t get out of bed by myself. Switched to Norco and I am a different person now almost pain free. I’m not sure why this med didn’t help because it’s supposed to be stronger and norco is much lower but for whatever reason it didn’t work for me and was $200 a month for a year!! I’m glad I switched as Norco is $6.81 a month."

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) "I am 55 & have been on this long acting medication for decades. It keeps my overall pain on the level but doesn't seem to conquer the severe bone pain. I have other med for breakthrough pain. I have had RSD for almost 30 years now , had Endo as well as Fibro, DDD, Spinal Stenosis, Post-Lyme Arthritis and Adhesive Arachnoiditis from the 14 years of constant Epidural Injections. One of which went very badly in 2007. Morphine ER saved my life. When the Drs. decided to force taper me off both of my Rx Opioids in 2018, due to the totally misread 2016 CDC Guidelines, I simply wanted for my journey to end. The pain was worse than I could ever explain & I would only get 1 to 2 hrs. of sleep. I finally found a Doctor in January 2020 and while, due to the overall stricter prescribing standards, my Dr. could only prescribe a little bit each month until I finally got up to my dose of 60mg, 3 x daily. This medicine is a Godsend for my quality of living."

MS Contin (morphine) "I take it for chronic back & foot pain. I had been taking OxyContin ER, but insurance isn't covering that anymore. I am not a fan of short-acting meds, trying to stay on top of pain with them. MS Contin seems to be working only slightly less effectively as the OxyContin ER. More dry mouth, less sedating tho. Both seem about equal on other side effects. I'm happy with it!"

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) "I have tried several different pain meds.I had 2 discs in my neck replaced in 2008 and have a neck fusion. I also have severe and chronic pain. It's unbearable at times. I take 60mg ER one in morning and one at night. It's the only thing that lets me function and xanax 2mg relaxes the muscles in my neck and back. I find it works better if I take 1 and lie down for about 20 minutes to let it work better then I'm good til evening. I wouldn't be able to get out of bed without them. It really takes my pain away like nothing else ever. I've been on it for about 7-8years."

Kadian (morphine) "After trying Percocet, OxyContin and several other types of pain medication my doctor prescribed me Kadian and by far this is the best medication I have ever used for my chronic pain from Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am on the low dose 10mg and it has outperformed the 40mg OxyContin I was on."

MS Contin (morphine) "MS Contin 200mg x2 am/ 2pm, Allows me to function more than without it. I'm actually out of the bed more than before I started. I don't get the highs & lows of taking short acting pain meds around the clock. I get a steady release of pain control. Of course I have breakthrough dilauid 8mg tabs as needed. I have Chronic Pain, multiple Lumbar Spine Fusions, Cervical Spine Compression ( all levels) Currently advised to get total Cervical Fusion, but didn't get medical approval for surgery. This medicine is a life preserver!"

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) "I have chronic back pain for 23 years following a fall down a flight of stairs. I ruptured 3 discs and fractured various vertebral areas in my lumbar and thoracic spine. I also have Chronic Lyme Disease, Brucellosis and I have developed Fibromyalgia and Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome in both lower extremities. I have various types of paresthesia from burning to lancing. I have been on many types of Schedule II opioid pain medications from Fentanyl, Morphine, Hydromorphone, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Methadone. The best relief & safest medication has been the Morphine Sulfate Extended-release 200mg every 12 hours with 30 mg Oxycodone every 4 hours for breakthrough pain. I just wish it was less expensive since I do not have insurance"

"I have had 20 years of pain, 4 of which were severe. The causes of pain are herniated L3,4,5 and S1 discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, sacroiliac joint malfunction. MST Continus 40mg three times a day has enabled me to resume a level of fairly normal activity. I’m very grateful for this. Adverse side effect is insomnia."

MS Contin (morphine) "I have osteoarthritis from head to toe. At a visit my Reumatoligist stated I had reached a point where I needed more help than she could provide & wanted me to go to a pain clinic--I had never heard of them. I began going there, they took several vials of blood. They wrote a script for 10mg of oxycodone for up to 4 a day. When I returned in 30 days. After reviewing my labs, they also wanted me to take Ms Contin,, 15mg morn & night. Was told I would not feel the effect for about 2 weeks. I was about to give up, but one morning got up & realized, wow my pain was down. Since I have pain medicine in my system 24 hours a day, plus can take my Oxycodone as needed, my pain is much more controlled. I know I will never be pain free, but its ok."
