"For anyone out there searching for answers to their neuropathic pain this was mine. I have only been taking this drug at 10mg for 3 weeks and I have already begun to see huge improvements. I suffer from pudendal neuralgia and have tried nerve blocks, gabapentin, pregabalin, physical therapy, acupuncture, NSAIDs, benzos, the list goes on. Nortriptyline was my last resort and it has changed my life. My pain has reduced by 80%, I can wear the clothes I want, sit for longer periods of time, and be intimate with my SO. Don’t let the fact that it is an antidepressant deter you from taking this drug. It is a life saver."

"I started taking nortriptyline at only 10MG for vulvodynia, as soon as I started I noticed difficulty in urinating, after a week I saw my GP who told me to increase the dose to 20 MG, the pain was getting considerably worse and when setting I was getting shooting pains, my mood has changed dramatically dark thoughts, severe depression and anxiety, I now have panic attacks, and my nerve pain has sky rocketed! I was told to tolerate the side effects but they have become so severe that I am now unable to sit without a toilet seat! I saw a consultant who diagnosed me with Pudendal neuralgia, I never had these symptoms before taking nortriptyline!! ....... this medication has ruined my life!!!!! There is no one out there that than offer me an explanation?? I only took this medication for four weeks, I have been off this now for 6 1/2 weeks and there have been no improvement whatsoever, the nerve pain is so bad! I wish I’d never heard of this dreaded medication!"

"This medicine completely helped my vulvodynia. At my worst before the medication, I was in constant burning pain and could not sit down for extended periods of time. Nortriptyline started working for me after about two weeks. At first I was a little dizzy and very sleepy. I did have more constipation. But the sleepy/dizzy feeling did wear off, and I was so happy to have the edge taken off the pain, I didn't mind the side effects. I was on it for about 10 years with minimal pain flareups. I am doing better now. The pain is not completely gone, but nortriptyline was the answer I needed."

"Started at 10mg & pain lessened overnight! After few weeks, stepped up to 20mg, more improvement. In last few days upped to 30mg & I am almost discomfort free. This is after suffering on & off for some years. Plus my recurrent migraines have stopped. And pain from both knee osteoarthritis & wry neck very improved. So, yes, this medicine worked for me. Side effects were transient & tolerable."

"This medication took the pain away completely however I started having dark thoughts, and felt depressed and my heart rate elevated dramatically. I had suicidal thoughts. Such a shame as it worked but I had to come off it. Still trying to find a medication without unbearable side effects"
