For Chronic Pain "I recently injured myself again. I cannot tell you how much the product quality has dropped across the board for every single one of these pain relievers. Oxcodone in particular, there has not been a single brand that touches any of the old brand in terms of pain control, relief and duration. It is horrible. Sometime I can barely get out of bed and have to rely on this pathetic excuse of an opioid. The pain relievers of today last an hour at most and would hardly give a small child a "buzz". Tris, Mallinkrodt, Rhodes, and even KVK have all substantially dropped their quality and it is time something is done. The FDA/DEA cannot keep turning a blind eye to the whole situation. I don't know if they are intentionally trying to get everyone (even if they are legitimate pain sufferers) to resort to the black market. But everyone: REPORT THIS TO EVERYONE POSSIBLE!"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "After many years of being on oxycontin I was suddenly unable to receive it any longer because my insurance company would no longer cover . I was on 180 mg to nothing overnight. It took 10 days for my insurance company and my doctors to come up with xtampza this medicine does not work. I have H -EDS. Rare and debilitating illness. 7 out of 10 on the Pain Scale daily. Now this xtampza the pain has even increased more. Chronic pain patients opiate patients get treated totally different. Chronic pain you fight constantly with doctors and insurance companies opiate addicts get free needles free Narcan and a chance to get on methadone. What is our recourse? It's time for us to start screaming. Contact your senators your house of Representatives , local mayor's, news shows and anyone who will listen to US!"

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "OxyContin was life restoring for me. I never got high and when my doctor left practice, I tapered myself off without any problems or addiction. Of course, I am suffering greatly because I have to deal with the severe intractable chronic pain again. I was hit twice by an 18-wheeler in the same accident. That, along with several autoimmune disorders, and two rare diseases keep me from participating in life. Unfortunately because some people choose to be stupid and take illicit drugs to get high, those with severe intractable chronic pain are made to suffer, even though we have the lowest rate of addiction and abuse 0.3%. Now it's nearly impossible to get adequate (or any) opioid pain mgmt!"

For Chronic Pain "Rhodes Pharmacy RP10 oxycodone is the worst generic ever made pushed by the VA IN PHOENIX This horrible medicine doesn't work at all and causes back pain, alters mood and causes sinus problems, keeps you up, causes irritability. If the VA gives you this medicine run, it will destroy your life and the VA tries to make you look as though it’s your fault that you are in pain. I was told that I’m going be only person that has complained, making me look like I’m mental. There are plenty of negative reviews on this medicine. Only the best for the cannon fodder good luck fellows."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "My father has been on this drug for over 25 years and I have been by his side the entire 21 years I have been alive and I have never once seen him misuse the drug, sell it or abuse it in any way shape or form. He has 6 herniated disks in his back, a bad knee and a bad hip. He is able to run his business and be extremely productive when he has his medication as he is not in pain when he does. But the DEA has started cutting people down simply because some doctors and some patients abused it. Because of the few the majority are being hurt. I bet if the person at the DEA had anyone they know or themselves where in pain they would NEVER make such a careless move as to make doctors afraid to prescribe it in fear of losing their licence to practice. This drug is a miracle drug and I have seen so much good come from it. Especially my father being able to live a normal life with the medication (:"

For Chronic Pain "Mallinckrodt 15mg IR oxycodone - I have needed to take Oxycodone for years treating chronic pain. After trying near all generics Activis brand always seemed most effective providing pain relief while not negatively effecting energy or attitude. Recently my pharmacy unfortunately switched to Mallinckrodt due supply issues. From personal experience along with comments from others they are not near as effective seeming to have a placebo effect. I have long felt some manufacturers have changed initial formulations thus altering its addictive nature and strength. At any rate I am noticing less pain relief, more lethargy and lack of motivation with extreme tiredness after taking IR Mallinckrodt. If others would like to share experiences please do as I am seeking viable solutions."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I am a 62 year old mom of 5, wife for 35 years. About 20 years ago I was being treated for chronic bilateral back pain with sciatica, herniated disc, lumbar degenerative disc disease. That being said, I was prescribed 80 mg of Oxycontin 3 times daily with Oxycodone 30mg immediate release for break through pain. It was life saving!!!! I was able to function, work at our business, take care of my family and do everyday tasks. Now, because of the "OPIOD CRISIS", my Dr. tells me, I no longer can take this medication, and has taken me down to 30mg of Oxycontin 2 times per day and 20 mg Oxycodone up to 2 times daily! BTW, since the very first diagnosis I described, I now have Scoliosis of thoracolumbar spine and postural kyphosis of the thoracic region. So, from someone like myself, I don't abuse, sell, or give out my medication, why do I along with so many people like me, have to be taken off a medication that offers them to live a somewhat productive life with almost bearable pain???"

For Pain "I take the oxycotin 10-325. Recently all pharmacies in my area changed to Rhodes brand. It's garbage. Either it does not have the right amount of medicine or the strength is incorrect. I never have a single issue with any other brand. I get withdrawal symptoms, my legs jump and it keeps me from sleeping because it does not manage the pain as it should. If you try to split the pills they crumble. Does no one oversee these pharmaceutical companies??"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "My father is a 58 year-old Parkinson's disease sufferer with severe back and neck pain. He is 6'5 with a heavy/bulky build (not fat) and his weight was always around 250 lbs, now 300 since going on Xtampza. He had back and neck surgery (bone fusion) that only worsened his pain. He took Oxycontin 60mg 3X per day for years until 2018 when insurance forced his intake from 3X per day to 2X per day, later switched to Xtampza 27mg 4X per day (120 per month), which is the equivalent. He say's Xtampza does NOT offer the same level of pain relief as his former medication (Oxycontin). Just because some people experience good results from it does not mean YOU will. Some people rated Xtampza highly and implied those who aren't getting good relief are just using it to get high or aren't using it as prescribed. This is insulting for anyone to even imply this, and doing so only further minimizes the pain and suffering people experience because of the industry's mishandling of their medication(s)."

For Chronic Pain "I have lupus, kidney failure, etc etc. and I was started on hydrocodone a few years ago but have recently been moved to oxycodone. CVS filled my prescription order of oxycodone from Amneal Pharmaceutical. I happened to have a random old bottle (from about a year ago) of oxycodone from Mallinckrodt. When I take 1/2 of one of the mallinckrodt Oxycodone pills, my pain subsides for 12 HOURS! ....12 hours.... When I take the Amneal oxycodone, my pain either worsens, or is better for about 30 mins and then a migraine starts and the pain resumes. I’m not taking this medication for fun. I am in serious, chronic pain. 10/10 pain. I’m not sure what certain pharmaceutical companies are doing in terms of putting fake products in these pills, or fillers, but something is not right and unfortunately it’s the disabled that suffer. As usual. "

For Pain "VA is now prescribing oxycodone made by Rhodes pharma to its chronic pain patients. This stuff is pure garbage. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! I went through withdrawal and was sick for a week as soon as they switched me to this. I, like countless other reviewers now live with increased pain, nausea, upset stomach and depression. My life has been turned upside down. This is how the government treats its vets. Its DISGRACEFUL! My only hope is that enough people will come forward and expose this fake garbage they are giving us."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Like many others I was forced off my 20 mg OxyContin ER twice a day by my insurance company that I was on for 10 years with no issues except constipation. My doctor switched me to Xampta ER and this medicine sucks! It doesn't control my pain, makes me feel generally unwell, woozy, nauseous. I even took it with a high fat high calorie "meal" of peanut butter and crackers as I heard that helps absorption. I'm sick to death of us pain patients fighting for our rights to medication that works for us! This new abuse deterrent Xtampza is useless for addicts AND useless for chronic pain patients! They design these meds with addicts in mind, not caring if they even do their intended job. I've had chronic pain since I was in my mid 20's due to Ehler's-Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia and I'm 39 years old now and I just cannot believe I am forced to live the rest of my life this way. What a waste"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I was on oxycontin for 15 plus years and I went to fill my prescription and the insurance company cut me off. After a week of awfulness I got my new medication Xtampza. I've only been on it for 4 days and it's been the worst. I was fine on oxycontin except for constipation and I had that figured out. I take my Xtampza and about 30 minutes later I feel like I am the end of my life. I'm so depressed and crying then about 1 to 2 hours later the depression is gone. I hope this is not going to continue or else I need something else for pain. I feel like I have the flu and other issues . I'm not sure if it's the Xtampza or results from stopping the oxycontin. I don't understand why the honest sick old people get screwed because these drug addicts are abusing drugs. This opioid war is hurting good people that need pain relief. The addicts will just find another way to abuse the system."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "Ahhhh, the dreaded drug...no matter what you call it, by whatever media-scare tactic out there, what isn't trumpeted are the success stories....why is that? Does something have to be "Negative" to garner press? And if so, why is that? My story: Two brain surgeries. Manmouth amounts of pain. I tried everything -- nothing lasted like this drug. It has allowed me to go back to work, to live my life, to be a father to my children. Screw the strange looks @the pharmacy...I'm alive!"

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "OxyContin has helped me so much to live my life. I have no arms and only one leg from an IED when I was in Afghanistan. I suffer from Phantom limb pain and numerous other problems, but I don't care, because had I not got in the way of the blast then a 2 year old and 3 year old would have died, so I'm fine with how I look. OxyContin has made the pain bearable. "

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I've been a severely compromised patient for well over 4 years with chronic low back pain. I was put on an Xtampza regimen with breakthrough rescue of oxycodone. I reviewed their application to the FDA but it has a fatal flaw . It must be taken with a HCHF (High Calorie High Fat) diet/food. If you compare the blood levels with LCLF or MCMF (low calorie low fat, medium calorie medium fat) or a fasting state, it won't get the job done. Also, if you sprinkle it on food with a HCHF diet, you will find the onset about 1-2 hours faster, but the peak effect is lower, while it still lasts about 8-10 hours. If you ingest it as a whole capsule, it will take 2-3 hours to start to work. The company has done A POOR job of communicating how to take it. My guess is you probably need about 30 grams of fat to guarantee you get absorption and efficacy. That's about 270 calories. Unfortunately, no one has told us this."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Have severe shoulder pain along with other bone problems and was taking Oxycontin 20mg twice a day and seemed to get a lot of relief and able to sleep at night and get through most days w/o too much suffering. Living in Ohio has forced my Dr. to take me off the Oxycontin and prescribe the Xtampza 18mg twice daily. What a terrible medicine this turned out to be, constant diarrhea w/ nausea and almost zero pain relief! I had taken the Oxycontin for 19 yrs. and it worked great for my chronic pain. Ohio should be ashamed for this action, some of us take our meds as prescribed and are responsible law abiding citizens!"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "After taking MS contin for 5 years I thought it was losing effectiveness and made the mistake of telling my dr. this. He switched me to this xtampra er. Horrible drug. It made me sick to my stomach, headachy, general malaise physically, anxious and somewhat depressed. It wasn't anymore effective than the MS Contin and what pain relief it gave me wore off in 4 hours. Due to the side effects I had no life. I didn't feel well enough to do simple things like go to the grocery store, do dishes, etc. Which the MS Contin allowed me to do. I was taking it for 2 weeks and the symptoms were getting worse not better. Just wanted my old medicine back and it was a big struggle to get it back. Got the sense from my doctor that this Xtampra ER was king of pain medication. For me it was far from that."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "To keep this within limits I will not get detailed on the benefits of Oxycontin. As you can read on the other forums it works. I take 80mg 3x a day and it works great. Been on it for 5 years now and liver test done last month was excellent. I am tired of the bad rap this medicine gets though. There are even sites devoted to its removal by people who have lost loved ones who abused the drug. While I feel for these people, no one told anyone abuse this wonderful drug. When taken properly this medicine works excellent with little to no side effects. It is said that you become dependent on this medicine but it is meant for long term and a good doctor will bring you down properly. So withdrawals should be minimum. This is a true wonder drug."

For Chronic Pain "I don't understand why people are making it so hard for severe chronic pain patients that have been responsible for years with medications. I would not be able to function at all, nor have I ever felt high taking these meds. It's becoming harder every month to receive meds, due to a shortage. Does anyone else have this excuse? The doctors did over-prescribe years ago, but not anymore. I don't care what meds are out there, if you are an addict, you will do anything to get them. They have moved past oxy and onto fentanyl now. Responsible people are paying the price for addicts, just seems so unfair."

For Chronic Pain "Been on 10 mg KVK brand 3X daily for 12 years, as well as 30mg MS Contin 3X daily for over 30 years. The VA has changed me to the Rhodes brand this month. Will see if there is a difference. Been hearing bad things about the Rhodes brand in my chronic pain patient online groups. I feel strongly that the DEA is forcing the pharmaceutical companies to cut the active ingredient in all opioid pain relievers since the phony opioid crisis started in 2016, along with the ridiculous CDC opioid prescribing guidelines. I don't see how these doctors, DOJ, DEA people can look themselves in the mirror. The pure torture that chronic pain patients have been forced to endure is evil! And karma is a bitch, and those responsible for this torture will get theirs one day. I bet that they and their loved ones get proper pain control. We have a heroin and illicit fentanyl crisis!! Not an opioid crisis. Other than those that need it are in crisis!"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Due to a forehead injury, I have chronic nerve pain. But my excruciating pain was well controlled when I was taking Oxycontin 20 mg am & pm, with 4 tramadols and 4 Percocet 10 mg a day as needed for breakthrough. But that all changed when Insurance would no longer cover Oxycontin and the Pandemic hit and there is a short supply of Generic Oxycontin 20 mg and now I take Xtampza ER 18 mg. I take it with a high-fat food as suggested and this medication is useless. I'm so depressed and not sure how much longer I can go on. My doctor mentioned putting me on Dilaudid ER and Dilaudid 10 mg 4 times daily but Dilaudid is stronger and I would rather not have to take something stronger when the alternative lesser medication used to work fine! But I can't go on like this much longer! For those that Xtampza is effective for, I'm very happy for you, but for those of us that it is no help, or in my case I think it makes the pain WORSE, it's devastating! God Bless you all!"

But like everyone else I am at the mercy of the dictatorship, Maximum dosage is achieved and according to the government my pain is under control and NO INCREASE IS ALLOWED. Dr suggested Xtampa because oxycontin was denied. I started going thru withdrawal within 2 days. Pain increased severely and side effects horrid! My Dr put me back on the morphine and I am back to my normal. Although Dr swears its a good drug. Look up how much kick back Drs make on prescriptions, sure they want you to try it go on something whether it works or not! Best of luck to all members of club pain!! In ratings I can't do -10 so here it is!"
